What is involved in being a Director on the Chamber Board?
Directors are responsible for attending monthly meetings, chamber events, spearheading programs, committees and other initiatives as designated. As the chamber strives to add more benefits for its members, these Directors will play an integral part to its success. This person must be willing to not only participate, but play a leadership role within the chamber. It takes many hands to accomplish great things and each board member will be required to play an active role.
Who is eligible to serve on the Board of Directors?
Any representative of a Chamber Member Business or Organization can serve as a Board Director. Chamber members can be found in our directory, under the Membership menu tab at the top of the page.
There are four seats up for election/re-election this year, with two vacant seats.

Nominations for Business of the Year
The mission of the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce is to advance business interests through education, networking, marketing, legislation, and economic initiatives. With that in mind, the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome nominations for Business of the Year. This award has been given out annually since 2020. Past recipients include Autens Pizza, Hamilton Memorial Hospital, KG's Market, and Tequila Mexican Restaurant.
The Business of the Year award will recognize a local business in Hamilton County whose business and business leaders share a commitment to professional excellence, business growth and community. We encourage you to nominate a business who is not only established in Hamilton County but who also demonstrates innovative products or services, encourages and provides professional development of their staff, volunteers in the community and contributes and promotes economic growth and stability.
Please provide information below for your nomination. Each will be brought to the Board of Directors for consideration with the three finalists announced before the dinner. The winner will be announced at our Annual Chamber Dinner.

Nominations for Ted Satterfield Award
Historically the recipient of the Ted Satterfield award has been an individual(s) who has demonstrated a commitment to the betterment of Hamilton County through local business and community activities. The common qualities that these individuals possess are most certainly a giving nature, concern for community, desire to make a difference and the drive to see things to fruition. Past recipients of the award include the following:

We are again seeking nominations for individuals (living or deceased) who exemplify the characteristics of past recipients and Mr. Satterfield, for whom the award is named. Please provide the information below for your nomination. Each will be brought to the Board of Directors for consideration with the three finalists announced at the end of December. The winner will be announced at our Annual Chamber Dinner on January 27, 2024.

Nominations for Civic Group Community Service Award
This award has been presented in the past to an organization, which has demonstrated through activities and support of the communities within, and the county of Hamilton itself. The award is given out every other year at the Chamber Annual Dinner.
Past award recipients include: Bottle Club, Hamilton County Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, McLeansboro Fire Department, Saint Isadore Knights of Columbus, Community Kitchen, Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Hungry Hearts Program, 4H Gift Garden, Home Community Education….and so many more.
The Chamber feels that too often these groups and the people who work so hard go unrecognized for their particular efforts. That is why we began offering this opportunity to nominate a Group/Club as a candidate to receive this award. Please keep in mind that each year only one group can be recognized so please be as specific as possible when detailing the respective groups accomplishments/efforts in impacting the community we share.
